We refreshed the five-year-old laptop fleet of a 120-person software company in Istanbul. The company's main concern was that employees should not lose working days during the changeover.
Planning
- Three configurations were defined by team needs (developer, design, administration).
- All devices were prepared with the company image before delivery and their serial numbers recorded in the inventory.
- Headsets, second monitors and ergonomic keyboard-mouse sets were added to the same order.
Rollout
The swap was done in groups of 25 each evening over five business days; staff found their new laptops with their data migrated the next morning. Old devices were taken back with a data destruction certificate and credited against the refresh cost.
